  • Is it possible to create a subject field in the CCF?
And that the value which is added by the visitor will be the subject of the email which is send to the receive address.

  • Hi my ld friend.

    Hope you are doing well.

Currently I'm working on new version of CCF, which will include customizable HTML Templates, Auto-Reply feature and some more.
I will add functionality to include any fields user inputted value in Email Subject field, I think it will be useful, and will cover your needs as well.

I will send you BUSINESS version of test package before official release, so you can test it ASAP.

    I will write you soon.
    Best Regards,

  • Dear Wouter,

As promised, I've sent the test package of CCF 4.6.1 BUSINESS to your email.

It includes html templates, auto-reply messages support.

To insert field value in email subject, use this structure: [FIELD_VALUE:FIELD_ID]. Replace FIELD_ID with id of field(which you can get from fields page). For field with id=1 it will looks like [FIELD_VALUE:1]

Please check also html emails, and say your opinion about that. It uses pre-defined styling, which can be configured in form options.
    Best Regards,

    Simon

  • Simon,

I have tested the Beta of CCF 4.6.1
    It looks great.
The addition of the html format for mail send via the Contact Form is realy great.
It looks a lot better than the plain text.

For the email subject there are 2 places where it can be used:

    1. The Email Subject option in email settings. (it was already there in versions < 4.6.1, but I didn't noticed that :geek: )
if it is empty, than CCF uses "Message Sent From SITENAME" as default.

If you need to use field's user inputed value in email subject, then you should use [FIELD_VALUE:FIELD_ID] structure, where FIELD_ID is ID of field, which's value you need to use. You can get ID from fields page(CCF->Fields, right column).
Now the email subjects in de Inbox does have a specific text for that mail.
So it is easier to select the correct mail.

    2. Since the CCF 4.6.1 Beta I have tested the html format and added the code for an subject in the header of the email.
    That looks great too.

I have not found any error.
I have tested it with Joomla 3.7.3 and PHP 5.6 and 7.1

So for me it is ready for the Stable release. :)
